Let’s go to the beach-beach let’s go get away. Despite the thousands of tourists visiting the beaches of the world during this time of the year, summer is still the best moment to pack your bags, get away from the noise and stress of urban life and get some well deserved vitamin D.
Inspired by the beachy vibes of summer, I made a checklist so wether or not you’re lucky enough to be going to the actual beach, (it works too if you’re just enjoying a day by the pool), you’ll have everything you need to make the most of your day.
Let’s begin stating the obvious. If you’re staying on the beach for more than a day, make sure to take at least two swimsuits, sometimes they can take a while to fully dry.
This is something you should already use on a daily basis and even if you want to get a tan, you should take a good sunscreen with you because solar burns can be really painful and dangerous. If you don’t protect your skin agains solar rays, your skin will age prematurely, in other words, you will get wrinkles faster and it will increase the risk of skin cancer.
A way to keep your face away from the sun and take your outfit game to the next level is using beach hats. The great thing about them is that you can totally rock them by the pool or while using a summer dress. Go with your favorite cap to add a twist to your summer outfit.
Did you really go to the beach if you forgot your shades? *insert thinking emoji here* Sunnies are the beach staple piece by excellence. They will keep your eyes safe from the sun and give that finishing touch to your outfit.
Shoes for the occasion
There’s a million options for beachy sandals, so please stay away from Crocs.
Book or magazine
Without a doubt my favorite time to read a book is while tanning (
or trying to, lol). I would suggest an easy read like Alexa Chung’s “It”, or your favorite magazine.
Aloe Vera Gel
There’s no way I’m going to the beach without this one. Aloe Vera Gel will be your best friend after a long day by the pool. It makes your skin feel amazing and it’s super moisturizing. If you keep using it every day, it prevents your skin from peeling.
Make your swimsuit look super extra by adding one or two pieces of jewelry, just make sure they’re water resistant or take them off before jumping into the pool.
You will definitely need something to carry your stuff to the poolside, so this is the perfect time to take out your tote and put it to good use. What I love about totes is the space, you can fit pretty much anything in there. You go Mary Poppins.
