I don’t know about you but I just LOVE to watch “What’s in my bag” videos on Youtube, it’s seriously addicting. I don’t have a Youtube channel, but I figured why not do it on a blog post.

So, first things first, my bag is a super simple black bag that I got at Kate Spade. I love it because it’s not too big and it’s not small either, it’s the perfect size and somehow all my stuff fit in it. Of course I have to change bags when I need to carry my laptop and a little more stuff, but on a daily basis this bag is just perfect.

How to get inspired on a daily basis - Indie Suns

When people know I run a blog, their first reaction goes something like this:

How do you come up with so many things to write?

Well, even though I am “good with words”, it’s not always that easy. Sometimes I spend days writing ideas in my little notebook until I come up with something “blog-post worthy”. But it’s not all about getting ideas to write a blog post, it’s about getting inspiration for life.

Has it ever happened to you? Going to see a movie and emerging from the theatre with a whole new life perspective? That’s what inspiration is all about. I think that you can find inspiration in pretty much everything that surrounds us on a daily basis, it could be in a chapter of a book you just read, in the view from the window at the most random time of the day, it could even be in your best friend.

But why would I want to get inspired? You might ask. Even if you’re not a writer, an artist or a creative person, you need inspiration to get by, you might not notice because its something that happens naturally, but we all have those days when everything seems dull, boring and completely miserable, that means you’re suffering from lack of inspiration.

When you’re inspired, you’re most likely to see everything in a different way, I’m talking about optimism and positivity and who wouldn’t like to feel that way every single day?

There’s a way to cure your lack of inspiration, here are some tips that will help you get your inspiration on:

Routine makes us go through life as if we had out eyes closed, so keep them open! There’s a lot amazing things that happen right in front of us but we are too busy cursing while we’re stuck in traffic to notice.

Stop taking everything for granted! We are way too used to our daily lives that we don’t find anything special or valuable anymore.

Get out of your comfort zone. I bet you’ve head this one a lot of times in the past 5 years, but it is because it’s the truth, you will never be able to see the universe if you stick to the same planet.

Keep a journal! You don’t need to write an essay every single day, writing things that you consider interesting like a quote or a definition can be enough. Also, keeping pictures and meaningful things in the journal can take it to a whole new level.

I don’t want you to think I’m a weirdo, but I find that looking at people on the streets or at school can be a major source of inspiration. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not telling you to transform into a creeper and stalk people, what I mean is that when you meet or see people with different ideas and thoughts as you, and you start to wonder the journey they’ve been through, you can get a whole bunch of new ideas.

So, what are your tips to get inspired? Let me know in the comments

Travel essentials for the road - Indie Suns

Hello everybody! I’m sorry for the long hiatus but it was much needed and now I’m back with a lot of new content to share with all of you. In a couple of days I will be hitting the road for a family trip and I wanted to share my essentials.

I’m really used to traveling by car or bus so I can say I have learned a thing or two over the years. First thing you should keep in mind is to ALWAYS take a jacket with you, it doesn’t matter if you’re traveling to the beach or a place with really hot weather, you never know when you’re going to get a little chilly and it can totally double up as a pillow if you fold it 🙂

Jeans and a cute shirt or blouse are my go to when traveling. You want to keep it comfortable but also cute, so it’s the perfect combination.

As for shoes, sneakers are my all time favorites. They’re super comfortable, so your feet will never hurt, especially if you’re in a 8 hour car ride. I know heels are cute but I really would not recommend any kind of platform shoe for traveling.

Take a backpack as a carry on for all your necessities during the ride. I love to take backpacks instead of purses because they distribute the weight evenly, so it won’t hurt your back.

Last, but not least, we can’t forget about entertainment for those hours on the road. I’m a big fan of Spotify and creating my own playlists, so I always have music ready. I also really like to take a book with me, trips are great moments to catch up on your reading list, I’m currently loving “All the Light we cannot see” by Anthony Doerr.

How to travel like a pro with a carry on bag

There is nothing that I like more than traveling, getting the chance to explore new places, trying new food and even experiencing a different weather is just indescribable. The excitement is real, but there is one thing that I might not enjoy as much, and that is packing.

Packing can be a complete nightmare, why? Well, I find that it is something that most people like to leave as a last-minute duty, and doing that can, and most likely will, increase your stress levels. There’s a million things to take care of during a trip, and on top of that we still have to worry about what clothes to pack and try to fit most of your wardobe in a teeny tiny bag (if you don’t want to pay for full size luggage during flights), well maybe not all of your belongings but if you’re going away for a week that’s 7 outfits plus pj’s, toilettries, flat or curling iron (some people even decide to pack both).

If you are someone that tends to struggle and stress out when it comes to packing… this is for you.

First of all, it doesn’t matter if you’re hopping on a plane and traveling overseas or if you are just going away for the weekend in a little roadtrip, these tips will totally make your trip a lot more enjoyable.
