Writer’s Block

I’m not the type of blogger to share whatever is happening on her personal life (except on Snapchat, lol), but this time I felt like I just had to. I’ve been MIA for like 2 weeks, and that means that I completely broke my New Years resolution, which was to post every single week. I even started a planner / journal, it was going great for the first few weeks, but then it all kind of went downhill. I just recently got a really cool and somehow challenging internship. Don’t get me wrong, so far it’s been amazing and I absolutely LOVE IT. However I have had a hard time adjusting and going from “full time blogger” to “full time intern”. I know that it is actually possible to have a job or study the hell out and still have time for the blogging universe (shoutout to Leta, Rachel (full time cat mom and a very dedicated student), Alyssa and all my blogger friends that are multitasking bosses).

So, if any of you have tips for balancing out your life, help a sister out and let me know. Right now I’m working on sticking to the journaling thing and stick to a schedule and deadlines for all the blogging thing. Also, if you didn’t know, I’m writing a weekly piece for The Huffington Post, you can check out my profile and articles here.    Now, onto the writers block. If you have tried writing before, you know how frustrating it can be. If you aren’t familiar with the term, it’s basically when you spend entire days / weeks trying to write something but you just can’t find the “inspiration” or the topic to write about. It also happens when you’re in the middle of an article and for some reason you cannot finish it.

I have found that the best method to deal with this is to take some time off and to write anything. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like what you’re writing but I find that it’s away to get things flowing again. Simply sit down in front of the computer and start typing whatever comes to your mind. It is also super relaxing to ditch the computer and write in a journal. That will absolutely get your creativeness flowing.  Now, a little bit about my outfit. I’m wearing a really cool sweater from SheIn, when I ordered it I wasn’t sure it would look as it did in the advertisement, as I have had problems with this kind of companies, surprisingly every time I order “knit” items, they turn out pretty great. When I got the sweater in the mail I thought that it looked huge, since I had ordered it in a size xs, turns out it fit perfectly, it’s very comfortable and my favorite part is the detail on the neck. I am also wearing my favorite sneakers from Loly in the Sky, they go with everything! I think it’s such a nice twist when your shoes a literally golden.

What I Wore

Sweater – SheIn

Sneakers – Loly in the Sky

Bag – Chanel

This was such a wonderful post Ana! I know the feeling, writer’s block can be so frustrating especially when you want to write but can’t. I think writing in your planner and trying to plan out weekly goals can do wonders when you have a hard time multi-tasking! It’s what I try to do when overwhelmed. I’m sure once you get into things you’ll start feeling more comfortable and will be a multi-tasking pro! Congrats on your new internship love!

First about your outfit, I love this knit and it’s lovely to hear that it didn’t disappoint you. Also, thank you for thinking of me and mentioning in this post, I don’t think I’m as organised as I was but I’m trying my best.
For the writer’s block, I’m sorry to hear this. It happens to all of us and it’s seriously the worst thing ever because it usually occurs to you at the worst days. I also like to write it all out once I get it, it seriously helps a lot.
I think you do quite a lot, you have an internship, you manage blog and you write weekly posts for The Huffington Post which is amazing. So give yourself some slack, Ana. I am not sure what advice to give you rather than give your brain a little break and try to do a bit of blogging and writing every evening.. Even if for 10 minutes. You will get out of it eventually 🙂
